Happy Friday Adventurers and Happy 2021!
Hope you are all doing well.
I wanted to take some time to update everyone on our current schedule, plans and goals for 2021, and other news.
Class Schedule
First off regarding the Spring class schedule. I was hoping that I'd be able to release some dates for you all by now for class dates, but currently, we are unable to schedule classes due to the lockdown. We are all following the Governors guidelines on the regional stay at home order, and so until cases ease up and ICU capacity increases between the Bay Area and San Joaquin Valley areas, we won't be able to put together new classes. We will continue to wait and see, but the best way to stay up to date on when new classes are scheduled is to sign up for the mailing list.
2021 Goals and Plans
With the new year, we all have hopes and goals for the future, and even though 2020 has shown us that things are unpredictable, I think it's still important to set these goals to work towards.
Since starting this school in 2018, I've been able to have a handful of classes in the spring and a handful in the fall and I want to keep that up if possible. But in addition, since there's been so much interest in dirt riding and adventure riding, I'm hoping to get some help to teach classes when I'm not available. That way we can provide more classes and get more people riding!
So, if you are reading this and you or someone you know is a dirt bike coach, or is interesting in becoming one in the future, please get in touch! The goal for this individual is to shadow and help out during classes and then hopefully be able to get certified and teach classes on their own. Ideally, this individual would have some experience riding off road as well as on road. I would love to see some past students apply and help teach the next generation of riders!
In addition to classes, I'd like to try and plan some moto-camping trips that would help new adventurers get a feel for what it's like to ride off road, set up camp and get in touch with nature. I've already got some interest from individuals wanting to help plan these trips, so if you have any input and might be interested in planning, scouting, or pre-running trips, please let me know. The more help and input the better I think these trips will be.
Speaking of past students, if you've taken the class previously, I'd love to hear how you are doing and hear about the cool things or travels you have done on your bike. Perhaps we'd be able to feature it here on the website to inspire others to get out and explore!
Finally, I want to start having occasional community group rides just to give people a reason to get on their bikes and go for a quick outing once in awhile. These might be just easy cruises around the area, or even sessions at the local offroad parks, or just to get some food somewhere. This gives people a chance to test out their bikes and gear, as well as meet like minded riders. These would all be beginner friendly and non-intimidating for riders of all skills. I know for myself, sometimes you just need an excuse to get on the bike and get out.
To close out, I'm looking forward to a great 2021 and getting more riders out in the dirt and out into the world! Looking forward to seeing you guys later this year!
